I began my volleyball journey at the age of 11, when I joined my middle school team as an outside. In high school I played starting setter my freshman and sophomore year.
I started playing competitive volleyball by joining a club team when I was 12, where I played for 6 years. During this time, I had the privilege of playing starting setter for the last 4 years. Throughout these years, I was honored to receive the All-American Athlete award consecutively, which reflected my dedication and performance both on and off the court. While competing at the club level during my junior and senior years, I also enrolled in college courses through a dual enrollment program, allowing me to balance academics with my athletic commitments. By the time I graduated I had earned my AA degree and was the top scholar of my team.
As my academic commitments grew, I made the decision to step away from competitive volleyball at the collegiate level to focus on my education. However, I continued to stay involved in the sport by playing for the University of South Florida's women's' club team for a year. During that year we placed gold bracket in all tournaments and won a tournament where I played starting setter.
In the following year, I transitioned to coaching recreationally, where I assisted the club and intramural athletes both men and women. I worked with athletes who were either actively competing on club teams or training with the goal of joining. The experience allowed me to refine my coaching skills and gain valuable experience developing adult athletes.
I graduated from the University of South Florida in 2024, with a solid foundation in coaching and experience working with coed athletes. This season marks my first with Game Point, where I am excited to be working with a youth club volleyball association. This opportunity has allowed me to expand my coaching experience and contribute to the development of young athletes.
In addition to coaching, I am currently interning at a pain institute, working within the field of anesthesiology. I have also been accepted into Physician Assistant School, where I plan to pursue my medical studies. Despite my academic and professional commitments, I am eager to continue coaching on the side, as I am passionate about helping athletes grow both on and off the court.
I coach because I want to help athletes experience that "light bulb" moment - when everything clicks and they realize their full potential. I believe it's important for athletes to see that coaches aren't just authority figures; we are people with experience, insights, and a genuine interest in their growth. I aim to be a reliable source of guidance and support, someone they can talk to about volleyball and life. BAP: Balance, Adaptability and Passion are the three most important characteristics I stand by and hope my athletes learn from me as a coach. "I'll be their biggest critic, but be their loudest cheerleader."
