Jonathan Viergutz

I was born and raised in Carroll County, Maryland. Moved to Florida in 2021.

My volleyball journey began at a young age—around 3 years old—thanks to my mom, who ran a small clinic at my elementary school. From there, my love for the sport grew, and I started training seriously by the time I was in 1st grade.

At 12, I joined Metro Volleyball Club, where I played for a year before switching to the Carroll Viper Volleyball Club, a club where my mom had coached for many years. I then spent the next two years playing for Annapolis Volleyball Club. Throughout my career, I’ve always been a setter, a position that has shaped my understanding and appreciation of the game.

I joined Gamepoint in 2021, bringing my experience and passion for the game to a new level. Prior to that, in 2020, I served as a manager, stat taker, and practice player for Coppin State University in Baltimore, MD, gaining valuable insight into the game from a different perspective.

I coach because of my deep love for the game and my passion for helping players grow. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness their development—not only in their skills but also in their character and confidence. Seeing them evolve both on and off the court is what drives my dedication to coaching.
